HOPES: Academic Credit Guidelines
HOPES Conference - 1 CR

In order to receive 1 credit for participating in the HOPES Conference, students are required to:

Requirements: Attend at least 2 keynote presentations, 3 panel presentations. Write a brief summary on each of these (100 words each) and write a one-page (400-500 words) critique of one, preferably one that closely parallels your area of study or professional interests. Submit to Brook Muller, bmuller@uoregon.edu, no later than April 25.

  • register for the conference
  • register for the class on duckweb (AAA 408/508 crn:30205/30212)
  • attend at least two keynote presentations
  • attend at least three panel presentations
  • write a brief content summary of those you attended (approximately 100 words each)
  • write a one-page (400 - 500 word) critique of one, preferably one that closely parallels your area of study or professional interests
  • submit the content summary and one-page critique to me (by email to bmuller@uoregon.edu, campus mail or US mail to Brook Muller, Department of Architecture, 1206 University of Oregon, Eugene, OR 97403) no later than Friday, April 25.

HOPES Charrette - 1 CR

In order to receive 1 credit for participating in the HOPES Charrette, students are required to:

Requirements: Submit a project, attend the review, and write a brief one-page summary describing your team and the ideas, intentions and concepts underlying your project (point form would be fine, illustrations would be welcome). Submit to Brook Muller, bmuller@uoregon.edu, no later than April 25.

  • register for the charrette
  • register for the class on duckweb (AAA 408/508 crn:30204/30211)
  • submit a project
  • attend the review
  • write a brief one-page summary describing your team and the ideas, intentions and concepts underlying your project (point form would be fine, illustrations would be welcome).
  • submit the summary to me (by email to bmuller@uoregon.edu, campus mail or US mail to Brook Muller, Department of Architecture, 1206 University of Oregon, Eugene, OR 97403) no later than Friday, April 25.

HOPES Coordination - 2 OR 3 CR

In order to receive 2 to 3 credits for helping coordinate the HOPES Conference, students are required to:

  • register for the class on duckweb (AAA 408/508 crn:30206/30213 - Instructor Approval Required)
  • have served or are serving in a substantive organizational or management role
  • prepare a time-based summary of your effort (bullet or point form of tasks and approximate number of hours allocated to them would be fine)
  • write a brief summary of your contribution to the conference (bullet point form would be fine) and include samples or products of that contribution
  • write a one-page (400 - 500 word) reflection on some aspect of that contribution and what you took away from the experience
  • submit the time-based summary, written summary and one-page reflection to me (by email to bmuller@uoregon.edu, campus mail or US mail to Brook Muller, Department of Architecture, 1206 University of Oregon, Eugene, OR 97403) no later than Friday, April 25.

HOPES: Professional Credit Guidelines
CONTINUING EDUCATION

Credits/Learning Units for members of the AIA and ASLA are available at marked events.

Members must sign in at each event to receive credit. The number of credits available for each event corresponds to the number of hours the event lasts (i.e. a 2 hour event yields 2 credits).
