A green roof is a great addition to many projects, but do you really know what goes into one? In this workshop we’ll make a modular green roof that will be a learning laboratory for future students. While we construct and plant these modules, we’ll also learn about the history, application, and feasibility of green roofs. Come ready to get your hands dirty! |
Just having a green roof may not mean anything in terms of preventing water from reaching the street level but according to study of 20 experimental roof tops during fall 2008 and spring 2009 suggested a green roof could reduce a building's air conditioning bills about 21 percent compared to traditional, tar-based black-top roofs.
