In addition to a full permaculture design certificate course, this dynamic residential program provides a holistic introduction to social permaculture, ecovillage design and implementation, and community living. Most Universities offer students upper division credit, through program participation.

“Green Communities is a five-year, $555 million initiative to build more than 8,500 environmentally healthy homes for low-income families... The initiative provides grants, financing, tax-credit equity, and technical assistance to developers who meet Green Communities criteria.”

The site is primarily geared toward the financial aspects of green and affordable housing, but it also includes a few Case-Studies of projects they have funded.

"Global Green USA establishes collaborative partnerships with local governments, affordable housing organizations, and other public and private entities to facilitate the development, adoption, and implementation of sustainable policies, programs, and practices."

The website contains design guidelines and fact-sheets, several case-studies, and a summary report from a green homes charrette with the city of West Hollywood.
