With the list of speakers coming together for the HOPES conference, I have started to look into each speaker’s field and see what exactly they are known for. One person that caught my eye was the work done by Michael Pawlyn with biomimicry. Michael Pawlyn looks closely at biological processes and extrapolates those ideas into his sustainable designs. Pawlyn writes that “The intention is therefore to transcend the mimicking of natural forms and attempt to understand the principles that lie behind those forms and systems.” Through this process, Pawlyn has created designs that are stunning to the eye, cost effective, and sustainable. Here are just a few magnificent creations by Michael Pawlyn:
